It is difficult to not believe with every website that says the same, Kerala is indeed a perfect destination for lovers as well as for nature lovers. It is important to choose one that is made to make your experience of God’s Own Country memorable with different packages available in this respect. Kerala offers you a lot about activities, with backwaters, hills, and nature trails to satisfy your hiking pleasure. Here are a couple of things to do and places to see.

Alleppey

In Alleppey, also known as Alappuzha, or “Eastern Venice.” Boat races, beaches, and temples are waiting for you. A house-boat like the former Kettuvallams – Kettu which means “living structures,” and Vallom which means “boat” is one of the most popular backwaters in Kerala. The beach has a 137-year-old pier that extends out into the sea and includes a lighthouse built in the 17th century by the Portuguese. The Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, which is home to birds like the Indian Darters, Little Cormorant, and a number of kingfishers, is also a popular attraction here.

Athirapally Falls

Athirapally Falls is situated between the districts of Thrissur and Ernakulam. Significantly, these drops are called the Indian ‘Niagara Falls.’ They are a popular place for tourists to picnic and are a scenic place for filmmakers! The experience of both falls and the development of a trek to them are an unforgettable experience, most tourists agree. Other attractions can be seen in Thrissur, besides the falls themselves, such as the Thumboormuzhy Dam, Poomala Dam and the Charpa Waterfalls. This is a popular tourist and local picnic spot. You have to walk down a mile and a half, where you have the best view of this fall. Diving is prohibited under this waterfall and the hazardous areas where you are not allowed are indicated. For filmmakers, this is also the main attraction. Thanks to the tourism of Kerala to preserve this place of nature.

Wayanad

Clean, unclean and hypnotic, Wayanad is a green paradise set in the West Ghats, 76 km away from Kozhikode. Tourists can reach this destination by NH 17 after reserving Kerala cabs, which connects Kozhikode to the rest of Kerala. The beauty of the scenery provides various opportunities for adventure tourism. The peak of Chembra, located 2100 km away, is Wayanad’s highest peak, and at least one day is necessary to trek to the top! When you reach the summit, you will also have a blue, pristine lake and a pleasant view of Wayanad.

Thekkady

Luxurious, thick forests and wildlife, which make up Thekkady, lie between Kerala and Tamil Nadu and can fulfil your jungle holidays! Periyar National Park is one of its many sites and a big attraction with bamboo rafts to see the Mullaperiyar Dam. Of course, it offers vast areas of spice gardens and also adventure sports for those who are so inclined. The dawn safari is the most interesting and visibility in conjunction with bison, elephants and birds is truly a memorable experience!

Kovalam

Who doesn’t like surfing and sandwiching and having fun while you are here? With its lively life and industry, Kovalam offers you this and much more. Visit “The beverly of Lighthouse” and relax while letting your senses experience all that is offered by Kovalam: curio-shops, warehouses and soothing waters that constantly settle. The capitol, Kerala, is 16 kilometers from this paradise, called Thiruvananthapuram (or Trivandrum). You can take the opportunity to rent a coach in Trivandrum and to explore the insanity of the city. It’s the best time to visit between September and March.

 Munnar Tea Plantations, Idukki District

This is the first attraction of all packages for Kerala tours. The trip to Munnar’s tea plantations is a truly wonderful experience. The road is very narrow and curved, making it one of the hardest routes in Kerala to drive. You can also buy tea powder and other products at a factory outlet. You may go to the Tata Tea Museum from Munnar to Thekkady, but remember that on national holidays this would be closed. It is strictly prohibited to pluck the leaves from the tea gardens. Remember this would be one of the most exciting trips in your life. If you come to Kochi airport and want to visit Munnar immediately, there are a lot of Kochi to Munnar taxi services.
