And then I just opened the door of my new cabin with a wall of glass like I wanted it to be. The smell of the brand new mahogany furniture, the mesmerizing antiques and wall paintings hanging on one wall were just having my attention, until then I heard a knock on my door when my assistant just stepped in to inform that I am supposed to attend the “BOARD MEETING”. Yes, My dream had just turned into reality and the years of hardwork I had put to grow into the individual that I am had finally paid off. I was the youngest senior partner of my company.

In the board meeting it all came down to agenda that we had to hire new employees for our firm. I being the youngest one was also asked to join one of my senior colleague in the procedure. A brand new day had just begun and I was just adapting to all the new tasks I had to do in the newest profile of work I had been given.  The very first task out of my today’s work schedule was hiring an employee. We sat in the conference hall discussing about how the procedure has to be carried out and my senior helping me out in sorting the applications. We were just prepared to start the procedure and we heard a knock on the door. A fine man with a good physique entered the hall. The very first thing that caught my attention was his APPEARANCE, the way he was comfortable in carrying himself despite of  fidgeting and bearing the confident look on his face. Moment by moment we started getting into his resume and asking him series of questions out of which some turned out be  straightforward whereas some were just to test his EMOTIONAL QUOTIENT and INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT. It is always better to have a SMART WORKER than an HARD WORKER because there will be times when an employee has to switch roles in order to make a deal successful and having a good EQ and IQ will make him realize the difference between situations. He must be communicable to everybody he might be concerned to in the company, for if there’s no link between ours mind, there’s no way I can utilize his potential.

Midway in the conversation he told us how desperately he wants to do what he has come for and how much he loves doing that. Thus, DEDICATION was something we were looking for and we could see a shade of it in him because when a person puts his heart and soul into the work along with the love for it then it turns out to be the best. And here what we want our employees to do is bring out the best in them and make everyone of us proud.

All the basic things that I wanted in my employee I could see in him and now I was looking forward to bring out the best in him which would benefit my company and helping him grow in the years to come.
